Think You're a Toyota Expert? Here are 5 Cool Things About Toyota SUVs that May Have Escaped You

  1. There Are Hybrid SUVs in the Toyota Lineup: While SUVs might be synonymous with power and capability, there's no reason they can't be a little green. The Toyota lineup offers two hybrid SUVs: the 2018 Toyota Highlander Hybrid and the 2018 RAV4 Hybrid. Go ahead, have your SUV and your eco-friendly vehicle, too.
  2. Toyota Safety Sense™ P (TSS-P) Is Standard: While this applies throughout the Toyota lineup, it's worth noting that Toyota made the Toyota Safety Sense™ P safety system standard from 2018 on, which means all new Toyota SUVs also feature standard TSS-P, which includes Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection (PCS w/PD), Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist (LDA w/SA), Automatic High Beams (AHB), and Full-Speed Dynamic Radar Cruise Control (DRCC).
  3. There's a Difference Between AWD and 4WD: Besides how they're written, there are some key differences between an all-wheel drive (AWD) and four-wheel drive (4WD) system. A 4WD system sends power to all four wheels continuously, without splitting the power between wheels, as an AWD system usually does. The Toyota Highlander, Toyota Highlander Hybrid, Toyota RAV4, and the Toyota RAV4 Hybrid all feature available AWD systems; the Toyota Land Cruiser, Toyota Sequoia, Toyota 4Runner, Toyota Tundra, and Toyota Tacoma all feature available 4WD systems.
  4. The Toyota Land Cruiser Is the Biggest: Of all the Toyota SUVs, the Toyota Land Cruiser is the biggest, offering seating for up to eight passengers and a tremendous 81.7 cubic-feet of overall cargo room—put differently, you can fit a lot of people and a lot of things in the Toyota Land Cruiser!
  5. The Toyota RAV4 Can Tow: Despite being one of the smaller Toyota SUVs, the 2018 Toyota RAV4 can still tow a standard 1,500 pounds, with the Adventure trim and Tow-Prep Package upping that to a maximum tow rating of 3,500 pounds.
